
Chris Conrad is a respected energy executive, engineer, entrepreneur, and creative visionary whose career spans more than two decades across the global oil and gas industry. A graduate of Texas A&M University with a degree in Engineering, Chris began his career in a unique and pioneering role as one of the first Americans to work at Italy’s renowned Grove Valve manufacturing facility. There, he immersed himself in valve engineering, design, manufacturing, and testing, building a deep technical foundation that would become the cornerstone of his career in critical flow-control applications.
Over the following decades, Chris established himself as a recognized leader in valve technology, asset integrity, reliability engineering, and project execution. His expertise has been applied to some of the world's most technically challenging energy projects, where he has led multidisciplinary engineering, operations, supply chain, and execution teams across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Known for his pragmatic leadership style and ability to solve complex operational challenges, Chris has consistently delivered results in high-consequence environments where reliability, safety, and performance are paramount.
During his career with Chevron, where he recently retired, Chris served as the company's Valve Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting major capital projects and operating assets globally. His work focused on improving asset integrity, advancing reliability strategies, optimizing lifecycle performance, and developing industry-leading approaches to valve management and flow-control systems. He played key leadership roles in some of Chevron’s most complex and strategically important developments.
The past six years of Chris's career were spent supporting one of the world's largest and most technically demanding energy developments in Kazakhstan, involving extreme operating pressures and high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide (H₂S). Working in this challenging environment required advanced engineering expertise, rigorous risk management, and innovative solutions to ensure safe and reliable operation of critical infrastructure. His contributions helped support the successful execution of one of the industry's most significant asset developments.
Beyond his energy career, Chris is also a successful entrepreneur and business builder. He is the founder of Republic Boot Company, which has grown into one of the world's largest and most recognized custom cowboy boot manufacturers. Through Republic, Chris combined his passion for craftsmanship, culture, and business innovation to create a distinctive brand known for quality, authenticity, and customer experience.
